Coveting...

One of my very good friends has split with her fiancé after 7 years together. They had been engaged for 2.5 years - the wedding was to be in August this year. She did not see it coming (nobody did) but I can't believe how strong that she has been. She has moved out of their fantastic apartment overlooking the river to another fantastic apartment overlooking the river but on the other side of the city.

Apart from her amazing new apartment (I wish we could live in something like that), the best thing in my opinion that has come out of this breakup is her new DeLonghi Nespresso Lattissima coffee machine. They previously had the smaller model that was less automated, so she calls this a spite buy. Perfect.

Now, I don't usually drink a great deal of coffee, but when I tried this I was absolutely obsessed. I usually have quite a bit of sugar, but with the particular capsule that I used, I didn't even need one. That's super awesome, and I will not rest until I have one of these magical machines. After buying the capsules and milk, it works out to be about 80c per cup of coffee, which is far better than $5 on Park Road, no?

The best part - hardly any cleaning is involved. The milk container thingy just goes in to the fridge after you've made your cup, and apart from pressing a button to clean out the pipes you can take all of the bits apart and put them into the dishwasher. I don't know if I would consistently clean a coffee machine, but chucking some plastic into a dishwasher I can do.

Do you have experience with these machines?

If you love these machines, please comment and convince EA that we need one of these, right now. If you don't, then please lie.

The joys of life, we never know what's around the corner. As for the coffee machine I can never function that early so always opt to go grab one out. :p

I hope your friend is feeling better. It's pretty hard getting out of a long term relationship.

I don't drink coffee but that machine sounds so very awesome! The thing that I really like is that it looks very classy and elegant. LOL!

I love that it looks so elegant - it comes in black, silver, cream and red I think. I like the black one the best.

Luckily, I am a very early riser. So I have time to drink coffee at home if I choose to. Plus on weekends when I want to have a coffee, I can. I swear I won't drink instant again. I've had one too many dodgy cups of instant at work...

We have these machines at work. They're real lifesavers and worth every penny. Go for it! They just look adorable too, great benchtop eye candy xx

Oh my that's a pretty machine.
I don't like how alot of capsule coffee makers look quite boxy but I'd love to have this one in my kitchen!

Thanks for all of your comments!

I agree, it is super pretty and tempting, and if it's at all possible, it actually looks better in real life...

Are you reading, EA?
