Tagged: 10 things that make me happy...

I have been tagged by Jade at She is Jade to list 10 things that make me happy. I'm a little sad about having to go back to work tomorrow, so I think this cute little tag will cheer me up...

1. My bed

After 8 days away, the absolute best thing about coming home was sleeping in my own bed. It's not the best bed in the world, but it's mine. I could go on to mention clean sheets - there is no nicer feeling than snuggling in to crisp, clean sheets.

2. Living in my pyjamas

As soon as I get home from anywhere, no matter what time of the day it is, the first thing that I do is tear off my clothes and put my pyjamas on. My pjs range from nighties, flannelette winter sets, to just a pair of checkered cotton pants with one of EA's tshirts (my favourite combination). My father once told me that I should make more of an effort for EA, and he's probably correct, but I just love being comfy in loose pjs when I'm lazing about the house.

3. Air conditioning

I can sense a theme of 'lazy home times' here. Our bedroom is air conditioned, and is at a constant state of 18 degrees. I know that it's more efficient to leave it at 24 degrees, and I know that our electricity bill suffers (oh, does it suffer), however I don't care. I like to be cold when I sleep, with a doona pulled right up, even in summer. I also have the fan on so there is moving air around me. Mostly though, I love air conditioning because I hate the heat, especially humid heat. I think that I'm made to live in Norway or somewhere freezing and dark with no sun.

4. Organising and planning

I am a compulsive organiser, to the point that it makes me a procrastinator. I have a blog post about my organisation tools that will be written soon, but suffice to say that when I'm planning something, be it a trip to the grocery shop, a wedding or a holiday, I am truly happy.

5. Saturdays

I think Saturdays are the best day of the week. I have an early night each Friday as I'm tired from a week of work. On Saturday I wake up refreshed, with the whole weekend ahead of me. Knowing that there is still Sunday before the work week starts once again makes Saturday so satisfying...

6. Reading blogs

For the last 10 years I have followed (and to a lesser extent kept) different blogs. I started out with blogspot, followed by livejournal, and have met some great people along the way. Even if I don't know bloggers though, I have always been intrigued by reading about their lives. EA doesn't really get it - reading about strangers. I don't mind though. I am happy to read about the most mundane things that people do in their days - for some reason I just find the way people live their lives interesting. I don't think I'll ever stop reading blogs, and I think I'll always be involved with keeping some sort of blog or diary in one way or another.

7. EA/our life

I'm really pleased with where we are in our lives at the moment. Of course, things could always be a little more perfect, but on a whole things are just going along nicely. We have jobs that we love (most of the time), families that are fantastic, and a whole lot to look forward to over the next 2/3 years, from planning and having our wedding, to buying a house and starting a family.

I think I'm pretty darn lucky to have found EA (Dad has warned me not to act like a pork chop because I won't find better than him!) and so many times, especially recently, I've been looking at him, for whatever reason, and have just felt this tingly happy feeling flow through me. Aww. OK stop it now.

8. Lick condensed milk ice cream

If you have never tried Lick ice cream, then you really must. I had only tried the vanilla bean (which is probably my favourite), but last night we had the condensed milk flavour for dessert. It is so good that it's disgusting. I couldn't eat all of mine, but just thinking about it now makes me smile. Yum.

9. The water

Be it a swimming pool, the rain or looking out over the ocean (not necessarily swimming in it), all water makes me happy. I wish that I could go swimming more, especially in this weather. Water is just so calming. Which reminds me, I'm thirsty.

10. Dora The Explorer

She's just too cute. I hope that she is still popular when we have children.

I'd like to tag the following girls whose blogs I adore:

Aspiring Domestic Goddess from Domestic Divinity
Natalie from Lemon Butter

I love Dora! She looks like my sister when my sister was younger! I hate the makeover they did to her though...long hair with makeup.
