I'm baaaaack...

Wow, it has been a long time since I've blogged. EA has even commented a few times in the last month and suggested that I post something. My excuse? I don't really have one. I've been keeping up with my blog reading, and I'm sure that I could have found things to blog about, but I've generally been so tired in the evenings that I've not got around to it.

So here is a rundown of my last 5 weeks:

I finished my last job

My last day was possible the worst last day that I could have hoped for. At the time it was traumatic and there were tears afterwards - not because I was sad to leave (oh boy was I not sad to leave) but because of the events that occurred in the afternoon. I can laugh about it now though knowing that I have moved on to something much better.

I went to Melbourne

My sister and I flew out on a Friday afternoon and I came home on a Monday night. My sister has all of the good photos, but here are some highlights (and lowlights) of my trip:

The reason I wanted to go to the zoo - so cute!

Bridge Road - the only day we had success at the shops!

The view from our hotel room.

Not the best game we've seen...

Can't go to Queen Victoria markets without buying some fake Lions products...

The best hot chocolate I've had in my entire life...

As you can probably tell, I didn't really care what my hair did for the time I was on holidays. And I don't know if it's the light there, but looks like I need to do something about the colour...

Oops - forgot to zoom out...

I turned 27

TWENTY-SEVEN. I think I've now hit the age where I don't want to get any older. At least I have an exciting year coming up. In less than a year I will be married and I will be back from my honeymoon, which happens to also be my first holiday overseas.

My birthday gift?

Finally! It ended up being half price (always hold out in the Oroton sales - they reduce prices further near the end). I was almost too late though, because the Abbey tote was sold out everywhere. I had to order one. So far it's wonderful. I take it to work every day and it fits so much in it. On the weekends though I use my other Oroton slouch tote.

EA took me to our favourite restaurant, Edge Modern Dining, for dinner - I think I'm going to do a separate post on that place.

The next weekend we went to lunch at Redcliffe with Dad and my little sister for steak. Yum yum.

I started my new job

I'm LOVING my new job so far. I'm now all settled in and the nature of my work is so interesting. I've been working around 47 hours a week on average, but that should settle down soon. Which reminds me, I have a lot of work I need to get done tomorrow. Yikes!

The best things about my new job - the people, it's in the city (so close to the shops!), the commute is up to half an hour less each way, and the variety in what I'm doing each day. No more looking at the same Excel spreadsheet for days on end!

That's about all of my news. Best be off to get this quiche out of the oven now...

Hi missea, I was going through my blog list earlier today and wondering where you were. Welcome back to the blogging well, and I'm glad you hear that your new job is working out for you.

I love Melbourne too, although IMO Brunetti takes the best hot chocolate crown.

So glad your new job is going well & glad you had a good time in my beautiful city ;)

I don't know about hot chocolate, but Brunetti definitely has the best coffee. The Lindt cafe is meant to make a pretty mean hot choccie - next time perhaps?

Thanks girls :)

There will definitely be a next time. I adore Melbourne. Will keep those places in mind for when I come back - hopefully next year sometime!

How good is Melbourne?! Such a great city.

And I had no idea you were 27! For some reason I thought you were 24. But I hope you had a fabulous birthday!

So glad to hear you're enjoying the new job too. Sucks about the tears on your last day for the old job, but whatever... at least you're in a much better place now.

Glad to have you back xx
