Has everyone had a lovely week and weekend? Mine has been so busy, but on a whole it's been lovely.
I'm in the middle of writing a tender proposal at work at the moment, but it's due to be submitted tomorrow so this week will be a lot less stressful. Also, with some social engagements on weekday evenings and 6am starts in the office I didn't have too much time for exercise. We did chores around the house yesterday, so I didn't feel too bad about that, however today I napped all afternoon and then sat around watching TV in the evening.
Just as I was feeling sorry for myself and settling in to bed with my laptop, I read Annie's blog post telling us about her start to the Couch to 5k program. I realised that I was making excuses for myself and that there was no reason why I shouldn't put on my running gear and get on the treadmill. And so I did.
My results? A HUGE improvement on my last run:
Average speed 8.204km/hr.
I fell off the treadmill again tonight - well, I dropped my phone and then flew off the back, but landed on my feet. If anyone had have been watching they would have thought I was super cool, but it was a big fat fluke. I also ran in some shorts rather than my longer 3/4 pants and have chaffed my thighs. Oh, the glamour.
Anyway, that's about it from me for this Sunday evening. I had better get myself tired and try to get some sleep. I will leave you with a photo of my newly organised pantry though - we're renters, so our pantry is nothing flash, but it looks so much better now that we've cleaned out all of the old bottles of sauces, herbs and spices that were out of date.
I do have a lot of fresh food in the house as well, we just don't keep it in the pantry. In case you're worried about all of that canned stuff. You will note the 9 cans of Four Bean Mix and the lunch soups - excellent lunches for the office, I'm loving them.
